"Passport to the World" Summer Program

Each week this summer we will travel to a new country through the use of books, media, maps, and our imagination. We will play games, listen to music, explore the arts, discover through hands on science experiments, research world and cultural geography, and learn through our interests.

The programs are unique each week so families can easily pick and choose the weeks to enroll without the students feeling lost. You also do not have to be enrolled in our school year program to take advantage of our summer program. It is open to all students between 5 and 12 years old.

The cost for the summer program is $155.00 per week for the full day program which runs from 9 am to 4 pm each day. For those students that need extended hours, we provide an extended option from 7 am to 5:30 pm for an additional $25.00 per week. We also offer a weekly $5 discount for families that register for 7 or more weekly sessions.

To register for our summer programs, please register online. If you prefer to pay by check, please download a brochure for a registration form.

Week 1: USA (June 16-20)
Where do we live? Where is our state capital? Where is our nation’s capital? What are the major landmarks of our country and where are they located? Celebrate our country’s independence, rights, and beauty. Get involved in making a difference in our own community.

Week 2: Mexico (June 23-27)
Hola! We will be exploring our neighboring country to the south. We will learn about Mexican food, fiestas, piƱatas, gray whales, bull fighting, soccer, and baseball for starters. We will end the week with our own Mexican fiesta, Ole!

No programs week of July 4th

Week 3: Antarctica (July 7-11)
We will travel to where few have traveled. We will investigate what animals live in Antarctica and the curvature of the earth. Perform science experiments on wind and ice. Admire the shapes of snowflakes and the photographs by Wilson Bentley. Research, create, admire, read, and pretend we are Antarctica explorers.

Week 4: Egypt (July 14-18)
What have we learned from Egypt that we still use today? What did the Egyptians do differently from us? What would it be like to live in a country where the pharaoh owned everything and everyone served him or her? We will also study King Tut, pyramids, the Nile, camels, hieroglyphs, painting murals, and shadow puppets all mixed in with games and culture.

Week 5: Greece (July 21-25)
The oldest surviving plays come from Greece. Along with exploring the country of Greece, we will try our hand at theater. We will start with introductions, sharing about ourselves, playing charades, and end the week with a small production. Everyone will have a chance to participate at their comfort level.

Week 6: France (July 28-Aug 1)
It is time to roll up your sleeves and create. We will look at art from some famous French artists. We will explore France, identify the landmarks, and create our own Eiffel Tower. We will play a fun game kids in France like to play.

Week 7: Australia (Aug 4-8)
G’ day mate. What might we find in Australia? We will research the unique animals of Australia, explore the Great Barrier Reef, learn the rules to play cricket and then play our own version, and try our hand at throwing a boomerang.

Week 8: China (Aug 11-15)
We will travel to the other side of the globe to visit China. We will visit the Great Wall of China, create kites, learn about the giant panda bear, and learn about the Olympic Games. We will end our week with our own Olympic games.

Week 9: Islands (Aug 18-22)
Water, water, everywhere! We’re going to get wet! What animals are unique to the island of Madagascar? What kind of music would I hear in Jamaica? Where is Easter Island? Come explore the islands with us. We will explore volcanic eruptions and island storms.
